A few months back, photographer Ben Cope & I decided to start collaborating. Finally the right project came up, a 30 spot for swimwear brand MINIMALE ANIMALE. The original direction was very open. We decided to embrace the brand's name & take a more minimal route; a single model on a white backdrop. Our model was none other than Margaux Brooke. We decided to mix a slight VFX element in & brought PRMRY director Tyson Johnston on to co-direct.
TECHNICAL: We shot in Ben's 3000 sq ft studio on our RED Camera. We shot everything from 12 fps to 120 fps, trying to do as much in camera work as possible. Lighting consisted of four stacked KinoFlo 4 Banks on talent & two Arri 2Ks pointed at the backdrop. We would alternate the stack of KinoFlos to either expose or silhouette Margaux. VFX was done in Adobe After Effects by Tyson.
Make sure to check the finished 30 spot out here:
Thanks to our great cast & crew for coming together to make this happen.
